Laurie Clemente and her husband Anthony are the founders of the Clemente Organization. Since 1997 they have produced state pageants for Miss USA and Miss Teen USA for the Miss Universe Organization. They currently run the state pageants in Massachusetts and Maine, and have previously run the pageants for New Hampshire, Connecticut and Vermont. In 1998 and 2003 the titleholder from Massachusetts won the nationally televised Miss USA pageant and their delegates have placed in the Top 15, Top 10 and Top 5 at both Miss USA and Miss Teen USA.
The Clemente Organization ensures that the pageant experience is meaningful and valuable for all contestants regardless of the outcome. The staff is committed to empowering young women and helping them understand the importance of being their best selves. During the competition, The Clemente Organization stresses the importance of good sportsmanship, a strong sense of character, and building friendships, and provides a forum for young woman to reach their goals in a positive environment.
